Operator Qualifications stem from a federal mandate that is part of the present US Department of Transportation. (DOT) Regulations found in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), 49 CFR, PARTS 192 & 195. Both of these federal regulations provide the framework for the construction, maintenance, and operations of pipelines systems.
- Part 192 provides the regulations for transporting gases through pipelines in the United States.
- Part 195 provides equal information for pipelines transporting liquid materials.
Personnel performing a Covered Task are required to have appropriate Operator Qualifications.
